Armstrong has been fully committed to the health & safety of its miners since the company began mining operations in 2008. The goal of Armstrong is for every miner to go home each day accident free. The men and women that work at Armstrong's underground operations, surface operations and coal handling facilities are some of the most talented and well trained miners in the industry. Armstrong's commitment to safety is recognized by its exemplary safety record year in and year out.
Armstrong is very proud of the commitment of its safety supervisors that oversee their respective operations. They are a group of individuals with combined experience in the mining industry of approximately 230 years. Armstrong safety supervisors hold numerous mining certifications such as State Underground Mine Foreman Papers, State Underground Instructor Certification, State Surface Mine Foreman Papers, State Surface Instructor Certification, State Mine Emergency Technician (MET) Instructor Certification, CPR Instructor, MSHA and State Certified Electrical Instructor, MSHA Certified Underground Instructor, MSHA Certified Surface Instructor and MSHA Certified to sample respirable dust and noise.
The mining industry over the past few years has seen an influx of new inexperienced miners, especially in underground mining operations. Because of this, Armstrong has committed one training specialist at each of its two underground mines to train inexperienced miners on safe work procedures, proper equipment operation and overall day to day mining practices.
